Acidity:- An increase in the acidic property of “Pitta” is known as – “Acidity” Acidity types:- - Acidity with Vata dosha - Acidity with Kafa dosha - Acidity with both Vata & Kafa doshas. Acidity is a chronic disease in which the causes of diseases come together and bring about acidity, which takes a long time. The symptoms appear after a long period. Although acidity is completely curable, it is not easy to do so. Accumulation of excess pitta dosha in the body leads to Acidity. Furthermore, intake of opposite food (considered incompatible in Ayurveda), stale food, or food which increases pitta dosha is taken, then the pitta becomes more acidic and Acidity (Amlapitta) occurs. Destroyed, toxic, bitter or sour food, spicy, very hot, very sticky, very dry, more liquid, heavy, Abhisyandi food when taken frequently, new wines, bread, Idlee, Dosa, Khaman Dhokala, Jalebi, sour butter milk, these substances produce Acidity. Avoiding of stool & urinary Urge, Fasting or re – eating second meal / food with very short difference of time, sleeping just after eating, bathing, for a long duration, staying in water for tub – bath for a long duration, drinking much water just after eating, these are the other causes of acidity. Living in Anoop country (area near sea or river) is also a main cause of Acidity (Amlapitta) Pre – symptoms of Acidity:- - Decreasement in digestion power. - Burning sensation over, epigastrium, and throat. - Nausea. Common Symptoms:- - Indigestion - Mild difficulty in breathing - Nausea - Acidic or bitter Hiccups from mouth - Burning sensation over chest. - Burning sensation in the throat - Dislike for food. - Heaviness of stomach - Mild pain in abdomen - Pre cordial pain - Flatulence - Sometimes mild loose motion |
