Kamala (Jaundice) – If a patient of a n anemia continues to use pitta aggravating substances , the pitta further vitiates Rakta and mansa and produces the disease jaundice or Kamala. A patient of jaundice develops turmeric yellow discoloration of the eyes, the skin, the nails and the face. He passes reddish yellow faeces and urine looks yellow has an extreme weakness of the sensory and motor organs and suffers from a burning sensation, indigestion, emaciation, depression and anorexia. Kumbha kamala jaundice with acites – Pathogenesis – in due course of time, when jaundice becomes chronic, it is known as kumbha kamala and is difficult to cure. Prognosis – A patient of Jaundice is incurable if he develops blackish yellow discolouration of faeces and urine, severe anasarca, reddish discolouration of eyes, oral cavity, vomitus, faeces and of urine, giddiness, burning sensation, anorexia, thirst, thirst, tympanitis, drowsiness, confusion, subnormal temperature and coma. Halimaka – When a patient of jaundice develops green blackish or yellow discolouration of skin , loss of strength and vigor, sleepiness, sluggish digestion, mild fever, loss of libido, body ache, burning sensation, thirst anorexia and giddiness, he should be known to be suffering from halimaka disease which is due to vitiation of pitta and vata. Panaki – Fever, diarrhoea, yellowness of the internal and the external organs and whitish discolouration of the eyes are the clinical features of the Panaki disease. |
